Overview

How CIPP works and where it shines

CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) is the most popular trenchless sewer repair method in residential work. We pull a fiberglass-reinforced felt liner soaked in epoxy resin through your existing sewer pipe, inflate it against the pipe wall with air or steam, and let it cure. The result is a new seamless pipe inside the old one — joints sealed, cracks bridged, root entry points closed. The liner is rated for 50 years and the install is typically done in 1-2 days.

Why CIPP is the right call for many Lehi sewer issues

Old Lehi cast iron with root intrusion — most common Lehi CIPP candidate. Cast iron pipe from 1920s-1970s with hairline cracks at every joint, mature tree roots intruding through the cracks, recurring backups every 6-18 months. CIPP seals every joint and excludes future roots permanently. One install, 50-year fix.

Old Lehi clay sewer — pre-1960s clay pipe is brittle and cracks at joints. CIPP works if the pipe is still structurally intact (which most are, just leaky). Bridges every joint with a continuous liner.

Newer Lehi PVC with crack damage — rare but happens. New-construction Lehi homes with damaged PVC from settling backfill or construction debris can be lined if the damage is limited. Pipe bursting is the alternative for severely damaged sections.

When CIPP isn't the right choice

  • Fully collapsed pipe — there's nothing to line. Pipe bursting (replaces the pipe entirely) is the right call
  • Severely offset joints — if a joint is offset by more than ~20% of the pipe diameter, the liner can't bridge cleanly
  • Orangeburg pipe — paper-bonded fiber pipe, used briefly mid-century. Too weak to support a liner. Pipe bursting required
  • Missing pipe sections — liner needs continuous host pipe; missing sections need point repair first or full replacement

What CIPP costs in Lehi

Per linear foot pricing: $85-$250 depending on diameter, length, and access. A typical Lehi residential project (60-80 ft house-to-tap) runs $6,500-$15,500 all-in. Old Lehi long-run projects (100-150 ft) are $11,000-$22,500. We include the camera scope before and after, two access pits (typically), permit and inspection, and basic yard restoration.

What Valley does differently

Lehi office at 1490 N 300 E with full CIPP lining equipment on the trucks. Hot water cure (faster than ambient) for most jobs; UV cure for select projects. We pull permits with the city of Lehi and coordinate with the city sewer department for the inspection. Camera scope included before and after. 50-year warranty on the liner material; 10-year workmanship warranty on the install.

Honest assessment: CIPP isn't always the right fix. If pipe bursting is better for your line, we recommend that. If traditional excavation is cheaper end-to-end on your property, we tell you straight. We don't push CIPP for the sake of higher revenue.

The Process

How a Lehi CIPP Sewer Lining Runs

CIPP liner being prepared for install at a Lehi home

On the truck

Cable machine, jetter, and pipe camera — every call.

  1. Camera scope and assessment

Run a camera through the line to confirm CIPP will work. Measure exact length, identify pipe diameter and material, locate any obstructions or severe damage that would preclude lining.

  2. Permit pull and city coordination

Lehi city sewer permit pulled. Locate other utilities (gas, water, electric, cable) along the path. Schedule city inspector for the tap connection final.

  3. Pre-clean the line

Hydro-jet the line to remove all debris, scale, and root masses. The host pipe needs to be clean for the liner to bond. Camera scope confirms the line is ready for the liner.

  4. Liner install and cure

Felt liner saturated with epoxy resin, pulled through the pipe with air or water pressure, inflated against the pipe wall, and cured (hot water or steam, 4-8 hours typical). Once cured, the liner is a new pipe inside the old one.

  5. Final scope and inspection

Camera scope confirms the new liner is clean, continuous, and properly cured. Lehi city inspector verifies the tap connection. Pits backfilled. Yard restored to as-found condition where possible.
