What Is Hydro-Jetting?
Hydro-jetting is a highly effective method of cutting through some of the greasiest, toughest sewer lines using extremely high-pressure water. This process helps clear the line for immediate use and ensures a smooth, clean pipeline, preventing future backups.
Why Is it Better Than Chemical Drain Cleaners?
Chemical drain cleaners are a quick fix to blockages in your drains. The active ingredient, lye, eats away at clogs, making it a convenient, often cheap way to get your drains back up and running fast. However, the chemical that eats away at the blockage also eats away at your pipes. In addition, it creates an environment perfect for hair, grease, and other materials to get stuck, creating more clogs. In the long run, chemical drain cleaners are not the ideal solution to your drain problems since your pipes will wear out faster and you will have more clogs. On the other hand, Hydro-jetting is a safe, effective method that blasts away years of blockages. It also does more than just clear our drain, and actually smooths the interior of your pipes preventing organic and inorganic material from being dislodged.
Is Hydro-Jetting Right For You?
Maintaining your drain lines will go a long way in eliminating blockages, and preventing sewage backups. It is currently the only effective method used for cleaning sewer lines, often caused by grease, tree root invasion, and other materials. There are various occasions in which you may want to use hydro-jetting. Our licensed professionals can help you determine if hydro-jetting is right for your situation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my drain get clogged?
Drains can become clogged for multiple reasons:
- Hair is one of the most common issues homeowners come across when it comes to drain issues. Over time, hair will build up and cause soap and other items that go down your drain to clog your drain pipe.
- Food in your kitchen drain lines combined with grease and oil can cause blockages in your drains. It doesn't take much food to accumulate and start a backup.
- Mineral buildup is one way clogs are caused and we don't think much about it. We notice the buildup on our fixtures but don’t think about what it is doing to our drains. Over time, mineral deposits will build up in your pipes restricting the water flow and eventually leading to clogs.
- Objects that shouldn’t go down the drain sometimes find their way down it anyway. Whether it's jewelry, small toys, tags, or other kitchen or bathroom items, they can block the flow of water and cause clogs.
- Another unseen issue that drain lines come across is tree roots. Tree roots are constantly looking for nutrients and will do all they can to find them. As they grow, they will find small breaks in your sewer line and cause clogs.
Regular maintenance on your drains is the key to keeping the water flowing in your home or business.
Q: Is it safe to use chemical drain cleaners?
Chemical cleaners are just that, harsh chemicals that are used to dissolve clogs in your drain lines. Think about what that chemical is doing to the clog. It is doing the same thing to your pipes. Chemical drain cleaners have a few drawbacks:
- Health Hazards: Some of these cleaners have harsh chemicals that can cause burns to the skin, eye irritation, and issues caused by breathing it in.
- Environmental Impact: Remember, everything that goes down your drains ends up back in the waterways.
- Damage to your drain lines: Chemical drain cleaners are corrosive. They are made to break down the clog in your line. They can have the same result on your drain lines, causing them to break down and leak.
- Ineffectiveness: Chemical drain cleaners are not made for every kind of clog.
There are other less harmful ways to clear your drains. You can use bio products which are a safe way to keep your drains maintained. Depending on what the cause of the clog is, it may make sense to call a plumber.

Warning signs
Signs Your Line Needs Jetting, Not Just a Snake
A snake will open a line. Jetting is what you call when you're tired of opening the same line over and over.
Same kitchen drain has clogged twice or more in the past 18 months
Cable snake works for a few weeks, then the clog comes right back
Slow drainage across multiple fixtures tied to the same branch line
Restaurant, bakery, or food service kitchen with chronic grease buildup
Home built before 1980 with original cast iron sewer mains
Laundry floor drain backs up when the washer dumps
Recurring sewer odor in basement or utility room
Camera inspection shows a layer of sludge coating the pipe wall
Apartment, duplex, or HOA main line with heavy shared use
Water backs up briefly when the dishwasher runs

Pipe-wall clean
Stop snaking the same line four times a year.
A snake opens a hole. A jetter scrubs the whole pipe. If you're tired of the cycle, this is the fix.

The Process
How a Hydro Jetting Job Runs
Camera inspection first
We run a camera down the line before jetting. Two reasons — confirm jetting is the right tool (not a broken pipe that needs repair), and size the pressure and nozzle correctly for what we're dealing with.
Stage the cleanout
Access matters. We pull the cleanout cap, set up containment for splashback, and position the jetter's hose reel to match pipe orientation. Working through a roof vent or pulled toilet adds cost — cleanout access is always fastest.
Select nozzle and pressure
Standard flush nozzle for grease and soft buildup. Root-cutting nozzle for small root intrusion. Chain-knocker for heavy scale. Residential is 3,500-4,000 PSI, commercial mains run up to 5,000 PSI.
Jet the full line
Hose feeds down to the furthest point, then we work it back in sections, scrubbing the pipe wall in both directions. Takes 45 minutes for a standard residential kitchen line, up to 3 hours for a commercial main.
Post-jet camera and flow test
We run the camera back down the clean pipe so you see the result. Flow test confirms normal drainage at every affected fixture. If maintenance jetting makes sense, we schedule the next visit before we leave.
