Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Valley Plumbing, Heating and Cooling website and the plumbing, HVAC, drain, and excavation services we provide. By using our website, scheduling an appointment, or accepting a quote, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By requesting service from Valley Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling — whether by phone, online form, text, or in person — you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal authority to authorize work at the service address, and accept these Terms along with our Privacy Policy.
2. Services Provided
Valley Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling offers the following services across Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front:
- Residential and light-commercial plumbing repair and installation
- Drain cleaning, hydro jetting, and sewer repair
- Water heater repair, replacement, and tankless installation
- HVAC service, maintenance, and system replacement
- Excavation, trenching, and sewer line replacement
- 24/7 emergency response
We reserve the right to refuse service for any lawful reason, including unsafe site conditions, lack of access, or scope beyond our licensing.
3. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of work unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing. We accept:
- Cash and check
- Major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
- Financing through our approved partners (subject to credit approval)
Past-due balances may incur interest at the maximum rate allowed by Utah law, plus collection costs and reasonable attorney’s fees if collection becomes necessary.
4. Pricing & Estimates
We use straightforward flat-rate pricing on most services so you know the cost before we start. Written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Prices may change after 30 days due to material cost fluctuations or updated scope.
If conditions at the job site differ materially from what was visible during the estimate — such as hidden corrosion, unexpected obstructions, or code upgrades required by the inspector — we will pause work and present a revised estimate for your approval before continuing.
5. Warranties
We stand behind our work. The following warranties apply unless explicitly modified in writing on your invoice:
- Parts: 1-year manufacturer warranty (or longer if the manufacturer provides one)
- Workmanship: 90 days standard on repairs
- Water heaters: 6-year parts and labor on new installations
- Whole-home repipes: 25-year limited warranty on pipe and fittings
- Sewer line replacement: Warranty term specified in writing per project
Warranties cover defects in parts and workmanship only. They do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, acts of God, freezing, power surges, tampering by another party, or unrelated system failures. Warranty claims must be reported within the warranty period and are limited to repair, replacement, or refund at our option.
6. Cancellation Policy
For non-emergency appointments, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a trip or dispatch fee.
Emergency service calls are dispatched immediately and are non-cancellable once a technician has been routed to your address.
7. Customer Responsibilities
By scheduling service, you agree to:
- Ensure a responsible adult is present during the service window
- Provide safe and clear access to the work area
- Disclose known hazards (pets, electrical issues, asbestos, etc.) before we arrive
- Obtain any HOA or landlord permissions required for the work
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Utah law, Valley Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to our services or this website shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, loss of use, or property damage that results from conditions pre-existing our work.
9. Disputes & Arbitration
We want every customer to be satisfied. If you have a concern, please contact us first — most issues are resolved with a phone call. For disputes that cannot be resolved directly:
- You and Valley Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling agree to attempt mediation in good faith before filing any lawsuit.
- If mediation fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted in Salt Lake County, Utah.
- You retain the right to bring an individual claim in small-claims court in your jurisdiction if it qualifies.
- Class actions and class-wide arbitration are not permitted.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any court proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
