A camera inspection is the only way to know what's actually happening inside your sewer line. A clog could be hair and grease. It could also be a settling-related belly in a 12-year-old Daybreak main from improper construction-era backfill. It could be construction debris a builder never cleared. You can't guess from the outside — you look.

Our techs run a self-leveling camera on a push-rod down the cleanout. You watch on the monitor with the tech — no staring at the ceiling wondering what's happening below you. The camera transmits a locator signal so if we find a problem, we mark the exact spot on the yard or slab above. Recording is included; we send you the video file and still images when the job's done.

When you should scope the sewer in South Jordan

1. Before buying a Daybreak or South Jordan home — even newer construction can have construction-debris clogs and settling-related bellies. For pre-Daybreak east-of-Bangerter homes (1980s-1990s), this is non-negotiable due diligence
2. Recurring clogs in the same line — same drain backs up more than once a year, something's wrong with the pipe, not the fixture
3. Multiple drains backing up at once — almost always a main line issue
4. Sewer smell in the basement or yard — gas shouldn't escape a sealed system
5. Wet spots in the yard where the sewer line runs
6. Daybreak laundry standpipe overflows — could be a partial main blockage downstream
7. Before a major plumbing upgrade — new water heater or repipe is a good time to scope while we're already there

What we typically find in South Jordan

Specific patterns by neighborhood. Newer Daybreak (2003+): PVC mainline usually in good shape, but settling-related bellies are surprisingly common in early Daybreak phases due to soil compaction issues that show up at year 10-15. Construction-era debris occasionally caught at fittings. Improper slope on a few addition or remodel runs.

Pre-Daybreak east-of-Bangerter (1980s-1990s): Mostly PVC at this age, occasional cast iron in the older subdivisions near River Heights. Tuberculation rare but possible. Belly issues from settled soil more common.

Older South Jordan (pre-1980): Less common in this city, but a few Riverton-adjacent neighborhoods have homes from this era. Cast iron with tuberculation, occasional clay laterals, root intrusion possible.
